Iskalo Development is currently seeking an individual with 2-5 years of professional architectural experience to join its Architectural Team. Qualified individuals should have at least a four year degree in architectural education (Masters of Architecture degree preferable), and be able to successfully contribute within the full range of project phases, with emphasis on the Design Development, Construction Document and Services During Construction phases. Technical support skills to include, space planning, constructability/drafting, building codes, rendering, with graphic design skills a plus. Applicant should have the experience and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with local authorities and agencies, outside consultants, as well as our in-house Development, Construction Management, Leasing and Property Management groups. Competence with the latest version of AutoCAD/Revit, Photoshop, Sketch-up are important. Applicant must be detail oriented and possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Skilled Tradesmen/Maintenance Technician within the Property Management Department. Tasks to be performed involve electrical/plumbing/roofing repairs and general building maintenance. This position is responsible for work throughout our portfolio of commercial, retail and residential properties.

Qualified candidates must have strong customer relation skills and present a professional, positive and helpful attitude as well the ability to work in a team environment. Must have a working knowledge of all hand tools and must possess a valid driver’s license.

Finance Manager

Iskalo Development is currently seeking a Finance Manager who under the direction of, and in collaboration with the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will actively participate in a related set of real estate development activities with a principal focus on property and venture financing, working closely with the CEO.

The Finance Manager will be expected to provide collaborative and creative input and shall be required to think conceptually and “outside the box.” Finance Manager will be required to serve as the professional “point of contact” with Iskalo lenders and shall be required to effectively interact with Iskalo staff/departments as well as outside vendors and professional consultants to advance/complete assignments.


  • Financing – Responsibilities include identification of prospective lenders, preparation and distribution of loan packages to the prospective lenders, coordination and attendance at meetings with the prospective lenders, assistance with the negotiation of term sheets/commitment letters with the preferred lenders, and coordination of finance closings including reviewing of loan documents and completion of loan abstracts upon closing.  Assist with ongoing financing compliance and reporting requirements, as well as update and track the “global” debt summary of all loans for Iskalo entities showing the loan amounts, outstanding principal balances, rates, summary deal terms, and maturities. 
  • Property Acquisitions – Responsibilities include assisting in property research activities, financial modeling, coordination of property due diligence activities including retaining and managing consultants to perform due diligence tasks, identification of lenders and overall assistance with financing of property acquisitions, and coordination of closings on property acquisitions with outside parties and internal departments.
  • Asset Management – Assist with certain Asset Management activities such as review and evaluation of property assessments, and coordination of assessment challenges.


  • Educational Requirement:  Minimum 4-year undergraduate degree.  Preferred curriculum in Finance, Management, or Law.
  • Computer literate with above average competency with spreadsheets, word processing and presentations; Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Minimum of five years, full-time experience in commercial real estate finance or development.

Assistant Controller


  • Review of monthly bank reconciliations
  • Coordination of quarterly GL closings and preparation of financial statements
  • Analysis of key financial accounts and preparation of ad-hoc, customized reports in Excel
  • Assist with tax compliance (payment of property taxes; NYS sales and use tax returns)
  • Support other divisions with preparation of budgets
  • Participate actively in the revenue management process (billing; aging receivables)
  • Assist with loan compliance (debt service payments; covenants)
  • Abstract lease agreements in coordination with the leasing department
  • Provide guidance to staff on new accounting principles or procedures
  • Participate with IT in accounting software enhancements
  • Interact with external auditors, advisors, operating vendors, and other third parties
  • Collaborate in the creation and enforcement of internal controls
  • Supervise processing of invoices (operating and job cost disbursements)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/accounting concentration required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general accounting and preparation of financial statements, including working knowledge of job costing/cost accounting
  • Experience in construction, property management, and/or real estate development is a plus
  • Ability to read and abstract basic information from contracts (leases; loans)
  • Basic understanding of tax regulations regarding business deductions, including depreciation and amortization
  • Proven exposure to fast-paced and multi-tasking work environment
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient with time-sensitive projects
  • Experience/knowledge of real estate/construction accounting software is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

Property Manager

The Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the policies, procedures, and programs that assure well-managed, well maintained building(s), placing maximum emphasis on positive response to the concerns and needs of the tenants, environmental health and safety, and quality programs.

Responsibilities include the following:

Operational Management: Day-to-day operational management of all aspects of the properties to assure maintenance of approved quality standards. The Property Manager shall also prepare, coordinate and insure that all fire, life safety and other safety and security programs are established and followed.

Property Maintenance: Supervision of all maintenance programs relating to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the properties. Coordinate remodeling with Construction Department.

Tenant Relations: Responsible at all times, for a positive and prompt response to requests from building tenants and for the implementation of ongoing contract programs to constantly assess tenant needs and to assure problems are being solved promptly and to the mutual benefit of the tenant and the properties.

Contract Services Administration: Selection of contract services, vendor negotiation of service agreements and day-to-day monitoring of vendor performance to assure full compliance with standards established within the service agreement. Including landscaping, snow removal, janitorial, fire safety, window cleaning, and parking lot maintenance.

Planning: Develop and administer the Property Operating Plan and Budget, subject to the approval of the Director of Property Management.

Statistical Analysis Reporting: Collection, analysis and reporting of such statistical data as may be required to provide accurate and current assessment of property management objectives.

Financial Management: Day-to-day financial management of the properties and maintenance of all necessary financial records and files, managing costs against budgetary limits.

Public Relations: Maintain a positive image of himself/herself, the property, Iskalo Development Corp, and the client at all times in the community. The Property Manager shall strive to attend and participate in outside or in-house activities, meetings, organizations, regulatory agencies, etc., as approved or directed.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; as well as 3 to 5 years’ experience in commercial property management (office, light industrial and/or retail) and demonstrated excellence in tenant and vendor relationship management, property budgeting and project management.
