Position Summary

Iskalo Development Corp. is actively seeking An Architectural Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has 3-7 years of experience in the field. This position is considered a hybrid position – work will be performed in office and may also be performed remote. The Architectural Designer will be responsible for design through construction documents in relation to comprehensive architectural projects and tenant improvements. This position will work collaboratively with the company’s internal Development, Construction, Leasing and Property Management teams.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptual designs through detailed architectural drawings for new or renovated commercial buildings, including 3D modeling, presentation renderings, floor plans, elevations, sections, supporting details, schedules and other components of design and construction document phases;
  • Coordinate with outside engineers and other specialized experts;
  • Consult with and update clients regularly throughout design and construction processes;
  • Collaborate with inhouse Development, Construction Management, Leasing and Property Management;
  • Maintain project schedule, and keep team informed;
  • Involvement in answering questions during the construction process, including visits to job site to ensure contractors are proceeding in accordance with building design and regulations;
  • Maintain a positive image of Iskalo Development Corp. and its affiliates at all times
Qualifications
  • Master’s in Architecture preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required
  • 3 to 7 years’ experience working on: Comprehensive architectural projects (ranging from new builds through historical rehabilitation); experience with interior tenant improvement projects (office, medical suites, retail, multi-family residential, mixed-use, hospitality (hotels and restaurants/breweries)
  • Understanding of and ability to manage the full range of project phases from Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Services During Construction
  • Creative and craftsmanly design approach, with professional style in verbal and written communication
Skills
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and tasks providing timely responses to project stakeholders, ensuring projects are on time and within budget;
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail;
  • Builds positive working relationships with peers and colleagues
  • Motivated, self-starter who works well independently and, in a team,
  • Competence with latest versions of
    • Revit & AutoCAD Architectural Desktop,
    • Adobe Suite, Sketch-up;
    • Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands
  • Work performed in modern, well-lit office setting
  • Use of standard office equipment (phone, computer, copier) in addition to trade tools
  • Use of personal vehicle during work hours (with valid driver’s license)
  • Frequent local travel to job sites and affiliate properties
  • Ability to walk, bend, lift, stand, sit, and to work at a computer for extended periods of time
