Position Summary
Iskalo Development, a full-service Real Estate Development Company, is actively seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team. The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting function for Iskalo Development Corp. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of ten years of demonstrated accounting and financial reporting experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance Concentration required;
- Master’s degree preferred;
- Professional work experience in a corporate environment preferred;
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in all areas of accounting; with a focus on financial reporting
- Experience with supporting a privately held company with multiple business entities preferred;
- Experience with Timberline Accounting software;
- Professional style of verbal and written communication
Responsibilities
- Lead Accountant preparing financial reports
- Review and approve all financial reports produced by accounting staff members
- Participate in the production of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports;
- Maintain accurate system of accounting records across organizational entities;
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems;
- Member of senior management team involved in decision making process and participating in all operational meetings, as directed by the CEO;
- Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of the corporation’s annual report;
- Adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Minimize tax exposure and related tax costs;
- Monitor and access means to increase profit margins, reduce staff costs, control overtime and overhead costs as well as any expense related costs;
- Ensure organizational compliance with all federal, state and local requirements, keeping abreast of new and changing laws. Enforce adherence to all requirements;
- Drives excellence in business, cost effective financial operations, managing workflows, budgets, scheduling and other items as needed;
- Prepares and/or reviews and sends financial reports as required by law to government agencies. Keeps organizational leaders aware of significant changes that will affect the financial condition of the company;
- Ensure confidentiality at all times;
- Maintain a positive image of Iskalo Development Corp. and its affiliates at all times
Skills
- Full competency in the workings of all Accounting functions;
- Knowledge of property vendor relationship management, property budgeting and project management;
- Understanding of the relationship of the accounting department to the other departments in the organization;
- Complete understanding of balance sheet reconciliations to subsidiary records;
- Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, developing alternative solutions, applying reason even when dealing with difficult situations;
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail;
- Builds positive working relationships with staff, peers and colleagues;
- Strong knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel
- Takes initiative, is solution oriented and follows through on all assigned tasks until resolution
- Working knowledge of real estate, construction or property management environment preferred

Salary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
