BankOnBuffalo Headquarters, Electric Tower 7th Floor, Buffalo NY.

The Electric Tower is one of City of Buffalo’s most recognizable landmarks. The historic 7th floor, the original executive floor for the Buffalo General Electric Company, was held from renovation until Iskalo Development found the tenant that would be a perfect fit and that tenant was Bank on Buffalo.

The goal was to design a modern, functional corporate office while retaining the integrity of the historic fabric within the space. The original floor plan was comprised of segregated spaces that did not provide the flexibility required for the Bank’s present-day use and future growth. To address this, some existing partitions were removed, spaces reconfigured, and historical elements delicately restored and reutilized. The original executive boardroom, which was reasonably intact, was fully restored together with several updates to serve as the Bank’s new executive boardroom. To maintain the classic corporate feel of the space, new interior finishes were selected that contained hints of tweeds, plaids and old-world motifs as well as “pops” of red as a nod to Bank on Buffalo’s brand. The result is a modern, functional corporate office in historic packaging that will suit the bank for years to come.
